SanDisk seems very confident about their growth in the SSD market that they’ve partnered with Toshiba recently to announce plans of having a second phase of Fab 5 plant in Japan. This fabrication plan should be completed by summer 2014 and would be manufacturing chips with advanced nodes and 3D NAND memory.
SanDisk’s VP expressed that there will be a growth in demand for standalone or embedded SSD for the DIY and Ultrabook market in the second half of 2013.
Mr. Wu also said that SSD sales are still yet to pick up from China’s DIY market however its been happening well in the Ultrabook business.
The company also made plans on SSD and eMMC devices.
